Join The Palace Foundation and Palace Resorts in an effort to conserve wildlife
With turtle nesting season rapidly approaching, The Palace Foundation, Palace Resorts’ philanthropic organization, is gearing up for the annual turtle release at each of its properties. Mexico is home to six out of seven sea turtle species worldwide. The two most common sea turtle species along Cancun and Riviera Maya are the Green Turtles and the Loggerhead Turtles and their nesting season lasts from June to August but tends to vary and sometimes extends until November. During this time of the year, the female turtles come to lay their eggs in the exact same spot where they were born. Palace Resorts was home to almost 600 turtle nests during last year’s turtle nesting season. The eggs are laid safely on the sand, a few meters away from the beaches. As a part of the brand’s initiatives to be more involved with the local community, the turtle release program was launched to help conserve some of Mother Nature’s endangered miracles. Guests staying at Moon Palace Cancun, Beach Palace, Sun Palace and Le Blanc Spa Resort are invited to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
