Turtle Nesting Season at Palace Resorts

Family Travel

Environmentally-friendly and interactive experience

Palace Resorts sets the stage for witnessing one of Mother Nature’s miracles. As part of the brand’s conservation efforts through the Palace Foundation, Palace Resorts’ philanthropic organization, guests have the opportunity to take part in the company’s sea turtle release program. Since the start of turtle season this year, the properties have been home to a total of 599 turtle nests, 68,876 protected sea turtle eggs and have released 3,403 eggs into the ocean. The Mexican Caribbean is an important nesting area for green, loggerhead and hawksbill turtles. In fact, seven of the world’s eight species of sea turtles inhabit Mexican waters and lay their eggs on the nation’s beaches. Sea turtles can lay three times a year and an average of 100 eggs each time. Turtle season varies, typically beginning in June and winding down in November. If guests are visiting Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Beach Palace, Sun Palace and Le Blanc Spa Resort, they are invited to participate in this amazing experience. Guests can check with the Public Relations desk when visiting a Palace Resorts property to find out the time and location of the daily releases.

With eight oceanfront resorts overlooking the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, Palace Resorts sets the highest standards for five-star all-inclusive vacations in Mexico and Jamaica.

  1. Hello I would like to book a group for august 24 but need to make sure the hotel is releasing the turtles daily, there are 4 children going for that reason, as I have been there before at the hotel many times and have recommended it to others and family, could you please call me or write back to me thank you.

  2. Hi, I’m visiting Cancun in the next 2 weeks and was wondering if you would have any turtle releases happening? I am not staying at your hotel but is there a pay option for visitors?

  3. We are visiting at the end of July at The Grand at Moon Palace. Will this be going on, and will there be any special events to take the kids down to at night to watch?

  4. We will be guests at Sun Palace in Cancun from June 1 – 6, 2018. Will there be an opportunity to witness the turtles?
