The community kitchen in Mérida welcomed those in need with open arms and delicious food.
Since the beginning of the global pandemic, the Refettorio Mérida team provided countless meals in the local community, serving those impacted the most as well as our heroic front-line workers. However, last week, the Refettorio, adhering to the safety protocols that have been put into place, opened its doors and welcomed guests inside the courtyard and dining room area.
Refettorio Mérida has become a place where people come together not only connect with others in a warm and hospitable environment but to also empower them to seek new opportunities for growth. In addition to a delicious and nourishing meal, guests can also use hygiene services and are given their own hygiene kit and a set of clean clothes. Haircuts were also provided as well.
“This day represents for me and for the Palace Foundation the harvest of a very sweet fruit planted almost three years ago!,” said Daniela Vargas, Director of the Palace Foundation. “When someone dreams big and shares their passion with the community, it can transform our world into a better place for everyone. Thank you, Massimo, Lara, and the team at Food for Soul for choosing us to be part of this amazing movement. On behalf of Palace Foundation, we will serve with love. #fortheloveofhelpingothers.”
